New Vista Place features 146 bachelor apartments (approximate size: 338 square feet) and 28 one-bedroom apartments (approximate size: 491 square feet) of social housing for low-income seniors (55 years of age and older).

Built in 1972, New Vista Place is one of two 14-storey high-rises owned and operated by The New Vista Society. Located in the south Burnaby neighbourhood of Edmonds, New Vista Place is close to shopping, public transportation and community services, including the Edmonds Aquatic Centre.

Bachelor apartments at New Vista Place are reserved for single applicants. Couples may apply for one-bedroom apartments.

Housing is based on a variety of criteria and an application for residence is required. Applications do not guarantee tenancy. It is impossible to predict how quickly an apartment will become available as availability is based on the number of apartments turnovers and the needs of the applicants applying for housing.

Rents are based on income and will not exceed 30% of gross monthly income, for our rent is geared to income tenants. BC Housing rent subsidies are available to eligible applicants. Rent includes electric heat (individual thermostats), lights and cable TV.

We are able to offer a limited number of units at market rate. If you think you qualify please call the housing office at 604 525 3288.

Coin operated washers and dryers, a recreation room, lounges and lockers are available on-site.

Limited reserved parking is available on site at a reasonable monthly rate.

Security deposits are required (1/2 of the full rent on the unit) and will be returned when your tenancy ends, if there has been no damage to the unit.

In June of 2021 a $13.6 million upgrade to both the Ernest Winch Tower and the New Vista Tower was completed. The renovation scope included: exterior paint and lighting, new windows, balcony treatments, new generators, new elevators, new roofs, new boilers and fire system upgrades. These renovations will renew the buildings for decades to come, for our low income senior residents. Exterior LED Lighting upgrades have also been made possible with a BC Housing Grant for enhanced safety on our property.
