A First Look: New Vista’s Affordable Housing Project in Penticton
Renderings reveal plans for 60-unit affordable housing project in Penticton
We’re excited to share some new renderings of New Vista Society’s upcoming 60-unit affordable housing development in Penticton.
Located in the city’s North Gateway area, this project is part of the BC Builds program and will provide much-needed rental housing for working professionals and families. Between 20–30% of the units will be priced 20% below market, ensuring long-term affordability for middle-income earners.
“This project is a great example of what’s possible when local governments and non-profits come together with a shared purpose,” says Darin Froese, CEO of New Vista Society. “We’re proud to be working with the City of Penticton to help meet the housing needs of the nurses, teachers, electricians and other professionals who keep communities strong.”
The new renderings show a modern, six-storey building designed to fit seamlessly into Penticton’s North Gateway neighbourhood. With clean lines, ample balconies, and welcoming ground-level spaces, the design reflects both functionality and community connection.
Thoughtful landscaping and outdoor gathering areas are also part of the vision, creating spaces where residents can meet, relax, and feel at home. These features align with New Vista’s mission to build more than housing — we aim to foster inclusive, supportive communities.
The City of Penticton is contributing municipally owned land through a 99-year lease and is working with New Vista to secure funding and financing. Construction is expected to begin in 2026.
With more than 80 years of experience in affordable housing, New Vista is proud to expand its mission to the South Okanagan and support a stronger, more inclusive future for Penticton.
