Douglas Manor

New Vista’s Douglas Manor features 51 apartments including 40 single one-bedroom apartments (approximate size: 471 square feet), 8 double one-bedroom apartments, and 3 handicapped one-bedroom apartments (approximate size: 533 square feet) of social housing for low-income seniors (55 years of age and older).

Built in 1987, Douglas Manor is a three-storey wood frame building owned and operated by The New Vista Society. Located in the south Burnaby neighbourhood of Edmonds, Douglas Manor is close to shopping and community services, including the Edmonds Aquatic Centre.

Housing at Douglas Manor is based on a variety of criteria and an application for residence is required. It is impossible to predict how quickly an apartment will become available as availability is based on the number of apartments turnovers and the needs of the applicants applying for housing.

Rents are based on income and will not exceed 30% of gross monthly income. BC Housing rent subsidies are available to eligible applicans. Rent includes electric heat (individual thermostats), electricity and storage area in each suite.

Coin operated washers and dryers, a hobby room and a lounge are provided on-site.

Limited reserved parking is also available on site at a reasonable monthly rate.

Security deposits are required (1/2 of the full rent on the unit) and will be returned when your tenancy ends, if there has been no damage to the unit.
