New Vista’s Margaret Bacchus Manor features 39 one-bedroom apartments (approximate size: 665 square feet) of social housing for low-income seniors (55 years of age and older).

Opened in 2001, Margaret Bacchus Manor is a three-storey wood frame building owned and operated by The New Vista Society. Located in the south Burnaby neighbourhood of Edmonds, Margaret Bacchus Manor is close to shopping, public transportation and community services, including Edmonds Aquatic Centre. Exterior LED Lighting upgrades have been made possible with a BC Housing Grant for enhanced safety on our property.

Housing at Margaret Bacchus Manor is based on a variety of criteria and an application for residence is required. Applications do not guarantee tenancy. It is impossible to predict how quickly an apartment will become available as availability is based on the number of apartment turnovers and the needs of the applicants applying for housing.

Rents are based on income and will not exceed 30% of gross monthly income. BC Housing rent subsidies are available to eligible applicans. Rent includes electric heat (individual thermostats) and there is a storage area in each suite.

Coin operated washers and dryers, and a lounge is provided on-site.

Limited reserved parking is also available on site at a reasonable monthly rate.

Security deposits are required (1/2 of the full rent on the unit) and will be returned when your tenancy ends, if there has been no damage to the unit.
