New Vista’s JS Woodsworth Court Phase 2 features apartments for seniors as well as townhouse units of affordable rental housing for low and moderate income households.
Opened in 1999, JS Woodsworth Court Phase 2 features 38 units of housing as follows:
• 8 one-bedroom apartments for seniors only (approximate size: 678 square feet)
• 16 two-bedroom townhouses (approximate size: 949 square feet)
• 10 three-bedroom townhouses (approximate size: 1,189 square feet)
• 4 four-bedroom townhouses (approximate size: 1,387 square feet)
Housing at JS Woodsworth Court, Phase 2 is based on a variety of criteria and an application for residence is required. Applications do not guarantee tenancy. It is impossible to predict how quickly housing will become available as availability is based on the number of turnovers and the needs of the applicants applying for housing.
Rents is based on 30% of gross monthly income. BC Housing rent subsidies are available to eligible applicants.
Tenants are required to pay cable TV, heat and electricity.
Some units have dishwasher hookups. All units have washer and dryer hookups and in-suite storage. Coin operated washers and dryers are provided. Units are pre-wired for security and security cameras are present on the grounds.
Secured underground parking, including a car wash area, is also available on site at a reasonable monthly rate.
There is a communal amenity centre with kitchen and a handicapped washroom on-site as well as a children’s play area and a bicycle storage area.
Security deposits are required (1/2 of the full rent on the unit) and will be returned when your tenancy ends, if there has been no damage to the unit.
Grants from BC Housing, Fortis and BC Hydro enabled upgrades to townhouse hot water tanks, furnaces and appliances in 2020 and 2021. In 2022 upgrades to the roofs, balcony membranes, window replacements, soffit and siding replacement and touch-up painting for our townhouses began thanks to a generous grants from BC Housing.
