How New Vista Beats the Heat
Staying Safe and Comfortable During Hot Weather
The summer heat can be intense, but inside New Vista, we’re keeping things cool and comfortable.
Our Heat Preparedness and Indoor Temperature Plan is in place every year from May 1 to September 30, with extra precautions taken any time the forecast calls for unusually warm weather.
The plan ensures that indoor temperatures are monitored daily and that our team can act quickly if things start to warm up. Rooms that tend to heat up faster are identified in advance so we can pay closer attention to them when the mercury rises.
Air conditioning in all common areas, along with blinds and heat-blocking window film in resident rooms, helps keep the building comfortable. Patios are shaded and allow for open airflow, offering a safe way to enjoy fresh air without the risk of overheating.
When temperatures climb, popsicles, ice water, and refreshing menu options are always on hand, and all summer recreation programs take place in air-conditioned lounges.
