New Vista expands operations into Delta, Maple Ridge and beyond
New Vista Society is expanding its reach beyond the city of Burnaby.
For the first time in 70 years, the organization will be offering housing in the communities of Delta and Maple Ridge, marking a significant evolution in the society’s commitment to affordable housing.
“I am thrilled to see New Vista Society extend its mission beyond Burnaby and embrace new opportunities to bring affordable housing and seniors care to new communities,” said Darin Froese, CEO of New Vista Society. “This expansion reflects our unwavering commitment to making a positive impact wherever there’s a need.”
On February 1, New Vista will take over operation of an existing affordable housing site in Delta for people 55 and older. The society was chosen by BC Housing to manage the operation, which consists of a three-storey wood-frame building with 48 units.
While all of the suites are currently rented, more information will be posted on our website about the building and how new residents can apply.
MORE PROJECTS ON THE WAY
The Delta apartment is just one part of a broader move into other parts of the Lower Mainland.
In Maple Ridge, the society is moving ahead with plans for a six-storey wood-frame building, consisting of 98 units of housing for seniors, which is expected to be completed in four to five years.
“Work is underway with the senior manager and the housing team to re-vision our housing function and prepare for the growth we are experiencing,” Froese added. “This expansion reflects our unwavering commitment to making a positive impact wherever there’s a need.”
