On May 26, 2024, staff members from New Vista Society, known as The Striders, will join the community at Central Park for the 22nd Annual Walk for Alzheimer's.

This event aims to support the Alzheimer's Society of BC in their effort to provide research, education, and family support for over 85,000 British Columbians living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.

The walk holds particular significance for The Striders, as many of New Vista's residents are among those affected by these conditions. By participating, the staff hope to raise awareness and funds to help improve the quality of life for these individuals.

This year, the team has set a fundraising goal of $13,000. Donations can be made through designated Fundraising Angels on each floor of the New Vista facility, and all contributions over $15 are eligible for a tax receipt. The floor that raises the most will enjoy a celebratory pizza party.
